The 2009 Blue Rock Cabernet, likely the richest Blue Rock Cabernet ever made, is the result of a sever selection from what will be remembered as two vintages in one. 2009 was a long and cool growing year with perfect conditions for the slow ripening Bordeaux varietals. Then the rains came, a deluge really, dividing the vintage into great quality prior to the rain and mediocre quaility afterwards.

One of Bordeauxs most concentrated rich and full-bodied wines. Latour is dark ruby in color and has a unique bouquet of fresh walnuts, leather, and black currants. BORDEAUX BLEND Wine
Hand harvested. Crushed and de-stemmed to tank. Fermented on skins for 9 days. Punch downs daily by hand. Pressed when nearly dry. Settled for 48 hours then racked. Malolactic fermentation induced through a cultured bacteria addition. After completion of MLF the wine was racked and moved to the cold room where it was stabilized and eventually coarse filtered. Sulfur was adjusted and the wine was filtered to bottle.

2012 was a spectacular growing season for most varietals and the warm, even temperatures throughout the season allowed our cool-climate Riesling to attain a high level of ripeness. A brief fall rain seemed ideal for the cultivation of the 'Noble Rot' botrytis but the brief wet spell was followed by warm days and a strong wind that inhibited the growth of the mold. Continued warm temperatures caused some dehydration of the berries and further concentration of sugar. By the time optimal flavors were developed in the berries only a very tiny percentage of the grapes were infected with the Noble Rot but the flavors were so stunning that we decided to harvest the crop.
Ch teau de Montfort Vouvray is an elegant, fine wine characterized by brilliant fruit aromas and excellent structure. Aromas of Granny Smith apples and Anjou pear dominate, with a hint of wet stone minerality. The initial fruit sweetness is perfectly complimented by a true zing of bracing acidity and minerality. The finish is long and satisfying, and the overall impression is of a tremendously refreshing wine.
From beginning to end, this was a cool year. The Walla Walla Valley experienced no 100-degree days for the first time in well over a decade. Despite the cooler weather, our vineyards were still able to reach full ripening, with harvest occurring approximately three weeks late. The longer hang time led to layered, nuanced flavors with vibrancy and natural balance.
