2012 was a long growing season which started out with warm temperatures early in the spring, followed by warm weather that persisted for most of the summer. The warm weather continued much into late summer and finally into October. 2012 is being hailed one of the best vintages in a long time.
Picnic Hill Zinfandel has been our flagship offering since the winery's founding in 1973. It remains a benchmark for premium Zinfandel from the California Shenandoah Valley; full of fruit, spice, and ageing potential, yet equally enjoyed in its youth. The 2011 vintage displays all these characteristics despite a low-yield, only 1.5 tons/acre.
Our wines are sourced from some of Washington's finest wineries. We buy small lots of juice left over from their blending and carefully combine these to produce bigger lots which we then package and deliver to your retailer. The juice in our $10 bottle is in many a store for twice the cost with some fancy winery's name on it.

This wine is from France, Burgundy region, Cote De Beaune sub-region and Puligny Montrachet appellation. A more elegant if similar nose features a bit more breadth that is imitated by the detailed, lemony and intense middle weight flavors that possess fine dry extract levels on the refined, focused and delineated finish. Like the Bourgogne, this offers fine quality for its level.
