Named in honor of the Great Egret, which was nearly hunted to extinction but is now a common sight in Sonoma. The Bonneau family, immigrants from French wine country in the 1920's, have been selling their grapes to prestigious wineries in Sonoma and Napa for decades, and in 2002 made their own wines for the first time, with Egret being their second label.
